No. The silver isn't sprayed on or coated over the surface, it's bonded to every individual fibre through a professional-grade textile treatment process. That bond doesn't rinse away with normal washing.

The antimicrobial technology behind slvr has been independently tested through 40 home washes with no drop in effectiveness. We're confident it holds up well beyond that, but 40 washes is the tested benchmark we can stand behind today.

slvr is designed to be low maintenance. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent, lay flat to dry, and avoid bleach or harsh chemicals. That's it.

For best results, wash with other delicate items and avoid washing alongside rough or heavy clothing such as jeans, towels, jackets, or anything with exposed zips, Velcro or sharp hardware, as these can catch on or damage the silk.

If you want extra protection for the silk, a delicates bag works well. Our slvr laundry bag is made for it, but any mesh bag does the job.

A few other things worth knowing: avoid direct sunlight when drying to preserve the colour, and if you iron, use the lowest heat setting on the inside of the fabric.

Because of the silver ion technology, you only need to wash every couple of weeks rather than every few days. Less laundry, same clean surface.
